The District contracts with GFL Environmental for residential garbage and recycling collection services. Please see below for helpful information about missed garbage pickups.
If GFL misses garbage pickup at an individual home, the affected resident should notify GFL by calling 281-368-8397 and requesting pickup. GFL should pick it up within 24 hours of being notified.
If GFL misses garbage pickup in an area (such as along a street or in a neighborhood/section), it is still helpful to call GFL and provide notice. GFL will likely already be aware and have plans for collection. The District’s contract requires GFL to pick up garbage as soon as possible after missing collection in an area. In addition to that, GFL has told the District that if it misses picking up in an area, it prioritizes the pickup for the next morning, since the garbage could become a health hazard. Therefore if garbage in your area is not collected, and you have not been notified on the District’s website to do otherwise, GFL suggests that you leave the garbage out for pickup, as pickup will likely occur early the next day.
